TEXTILE DESIGN + WEAVING
LIONDE ZULU WEAVERS
Martha Zulu began her weaving journey at Waddlington Center , Lusaka in 1984 and started her own workshop (Now Lionde Zulu Weavers) on Panganani Road, Lusaka.
Having trained her children in the design and producon of high quality shuttle loom woven textiles, she has worked directly with rural women cotton farmers in the Mumbwa and Chipata region to source raw organic cotton, the base material for the textiles she produces.
Together with her daughters , she has trained cotton growers (85% women) in Western, Southern and Eastern Provinces of Zambia and have gone to show case their work across Africa.
In addition, her 3 month training in India has added to the team's skillset and positioned them well to work with the Cotton Association of Zambia and the International Trade Centre ( ITC) on a training capacity.
Our founder Mulenga Soko, collaborated with Martha and her team to create Saucy Mukosa's best selling 'Kosa Woven' range, a line of sustainable cotton textiles made for timeless everyday living with the goal of creating a sustainable Zamban cotton production value chain focused on women skills training and capacity building for rural cotton farmers and makers of cotton products.

CLEAN SKIN + BODY CARE
MIRELEY NATURES SOAP
"The inspiration of 'Mireyly Natures Soap' stemmed from the love of plant and herbs which showed us a lifestyle of health and sustainability. So I like to think that Mireyly Natures Soap began with the curiosity for a craft! From the first batch of handmade botanical soap, a true calling was revealed. The ability to add herbs & plant oils to soap was an even greater revelation. From there, we were inspired to dive into the world of soap-making and skincare. We use soap everyday to clean our hair and skin and it doesn't have to be chock full of artificial ingredients; the simpler the better. MireylyNaturesSoap values self-sustainability, which starts with SELF-maintenance. Maintain beautiful healthy skin, with all-natural ingredients from our plant friends. Our mission is to create holistic bath and body products that help maintain skin health. Our products are made with botanical ingredients that are known to do just that! We strive to empower others with an alternative to the commercial brands we grew up on. Since our our products are hand-made, each one is unique, just as we all are!"Mirey Chimfwembe.
